WANTED: Smiling faces!

Volunteers play an important role in every public agency, and a park district is no exception. In fact, because the Batavia Park District works to accommodate the entire community - from infants to seniors - volunteers are especially needed and valued.

The Batavia Park District has numerous opportunities for those interested in volunteering their time and talent. From coaches to special event helpers, our residents enjoy the added benefits of a committed and dedicated volunteer staff. Visit our Volunteer Manual for additional information.

Coaches

A coach can have a monumental impact on a child who plays organized sports. At the park district, there are a variety of different sports in need of volunteer coaches. The sports include: girls softball, co-rec softball, men's softball, and basketball.

Park Volunteers

Volunteers interested in helping beautify one of the district's 36 park sites can help by planting and maintaining flowerbeds, laying sod, or cleaning up debris.

Count me in!

I'd like to become a valued volunteer! Please send us an email with your name, address, phone number and availability and the type of volunteer work that interests you. You will be contacted within one week of the park district receiving your email. You can also call Jeff Clark, Director of Leisure Services, at: 630-879-5235 ext 2018.

Create a Class

Do you have an idea for a class/program you would like to see offered by the Batavia Park District? Better yet, do you have a special interest or talent that you would like to share with others? The Batavia Park District is looking for new program ideas and local "hidden" talent to teach or lead various recreational classes. We are always looking for new instructors with creative ideas. If you have a particular interest of talent and are willing to lead activities or if you simply have a suggestion for a new program, please complete our Create-a-Class form and return it to either registration office.

Child Care Resource Service

Are you an individual who enjoys children and likes to help people? If so, then this is the program for you! The Batavia Park District is starting a service to provide resources for Moms' and Dads' who need childcare or just some extra help.

The Batavia Park District is starting a database of individuals who would be willing to help out either on a volunteer basis or otherwise. We are strictly a resource; we do not do any of the selection process. Please contact us if you are interested in being a part of this great new service to help our families in this community.
